  37. The report didn't indicate whether this was a modern Unix (but now we know
  38. it's AIX 4.2).  Anyway, experience tells us that sweeping statements applying
  39. to multiple Unix varieties, or even multiple releases of the same Unix
  40. product, can rarely be made with any confidence.

  42. The bottom line is that if a modem is to be used for dialing in to Unix,
  43. it can't hurt to set it up appropriately, and it probably will help.
